Local Housing Services

Although the Council has transferred its housing stock and landlord functions to the Scottish Borders Housing Association on the third of March 2003, the Council has retained a number of Council functions, which include:

Local Housing Strategy/Housing Research.
Homelessness - how the Council can help.
Homelessness – Who is eligible for re-housing.
Mediation Service/Antisocial Behaviour.
Housing Grants.

Scottish Borders has a lower percentage of people aged 19 yrs or under (22.9% compared with 24.2%) than Scotland as a whole.
