Link Housing is part of the Link Group, which provides a range of housing, property management and support services in 23 Scottish local authority areas. Link Housing, in partnership with other companies in the Link Group, works with local authorities and tenants to regenerate communities and promote social inclusion and social justice. Within the Borders, Link Housing currently has over 100 general needs properties. Their developments are located in Coldstream, Eyemouth, Kelso, Melrose and Galashiels.

Link Housing aims to alleviate housing problems by offering affordable homes of the right quality where people need them. Link uses a 'Groups Plus Points' system of allocations which takes into account various kinds of housing need. Applicants may receive points from more than one group but are placed in the group which contains their main reason for applying for housing. The five different groups are:

Insecure Tenure
Inadequate Housing
Housing Circumstances
Medical
Transfers
