Ambulant/Physically Disabled

Housing built or adapted for people with physical disabilities, who are not confined to wheelchairs. It is built or adapted to general needs housing standards but has a level or ramped approach, WC and bathroom at ground floor level and other special features to assist the disabled person in their everyday life.

The Disabled Persons Housing Service (Borders) offers advice and information to disabled people either living in or wishing to live in the Borders area, and who have particular housing needs or housing problems. This service gives disabled people the chance to consider their housing needs and what options are available to them.
